We plan using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, alongside 'Development Matters' and 'Birth to Five Matters' to equip all children with broad and balanced learning experiences across the seven areas of learning and development. We have 8 Aspirations that we support our children to reach during their time with us, which link to each Area of Learning.

 

Prime Areas of Learning information:

Personal, Social and Emotional Development       Communication and Language Developement       Physical Development    

 

Specific Areas of Learning information:

Literacy        Mathematics        Understanding the World        Expressive Arts and Design

 

Through our Curriculum it is our aim that children:

  • Have access to first-hand, practical experiences based upon play, communication and exploration of activities.
  • Have opportunity to learn through high-quality, well-organised and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
  • Have a quality education that is integrated with quality care and nurture.
  • Have a learning experience that fully involves their parent/carer and provides opportunities for them to learn and grow together.
  • Develop strong self-esteem, motivation and sense of self.
  • Have equality of opportunity and are equipped for life in Modern Britain.
  • Have access to learning opportunities that are based upon ongoing assessment of what they already know and can do.
  • Have their different needs respected, planned for and celebrated.
  • Develop as active learners and creative and critical thinkers.
  • Establish successful connections with others and the world around them, and develop a deep sense of belonging.
