Enrichment Opportunities
At Canterbury Nursery School we pride ourselves on offering our children and families real life hands-on learning experiences.
We have various enrichment groups that run throughout the year which change to suit the needs of each year group. These have included All Aboard, Baking Group, Snack Chat, Adventure Group and Canterbury Dance.
We have our own Forest School area which is used by all learning suites with our dedicated Forest School facilitator, as well as weekly visits to the woods for offsite Forest School sessions.
Aswell as weekly visits to the woods for Forest School, we also run an Educational Visit each week. Some of these visits on our mini bus have included: The City Project where children have visited places of interest across the city such as a Mosque and City Hall, a trip to the Farm Shop to democratically choose a bauble for our Christmas Tree, an Autumn Walk to experience the wonderful changes that Autumn brings, Litter Picking in Horton Park to develop respect and care for our local area, and visits to Bowling Hall Park to the Goldilocks trail to bring our Traditional Tales learning in summer term to life.
We also invite visitors to us! We have a Farm that visits for the day, we have hatched ducklings to care for, and staff bring in their own pets too. We also have visits from the Emergency Services!
