Termly Overview

Spring Term 2018-2019

Last term in The Meadow Suite we welcomed lots of new children to our ever growing provision.  We also welcomed two new members of staff to our growing team, Rhiann Fleming who is our apprentice and Claire Collinson who is based in The Ladybird Room.

In November we took part in The Bradford Libraries Rhyme Challenge.  We learned a new rhyme each week at nursery and at home.  The most exciting part was when we all joined in each Friday and sang together.  Thank you to all parents who attended and helped make it a success.

We finished out term in December with our sharing learning home visits.  This was a lovely opportunity to visit our children and families at home to share their achievements and discuss their next steps.   Some of our children moved down to the The Woodland Suite in January along with Mariyam and are all settling well.

This term we will be welcoming more new children to our nursery, we will be carrying out home visits and having settling in sessions.  As always some children settle quicker than others and some will need more support whilst settling in.  Once the new children are settled, parents will be able to join some of our new groups and courses such as ESOL, chill and chat and sewing classes.  These are a great opportunities to learn new skills and make new friends.

Better Start Imagine

Providing free books to children under four in our area, to help develop language and literacy skills.

Better Start Imagine will provide free books to families with children under four, to help them read with their child and develop their language and literacy skills. Every child born in the Better Start Bradford area after 1 January 2016 can be signed up to the scheme, and receive a book each month until their fourth birthday (from December 2016). Evaluation from a similar scheme in the Canterbury area of Bradford shows it works in encouraging reading and book-related activities by families.
