The Nest - Termly Overview

Spring 2020-2021

This term we look forward to seeing lots of returning and new faces to The Nest. All children have adapted excellently yet again to the new changes we have faced due to Covid 19, well done!

We aim to continue to provide new educational experiences to our children daily. This term in The Nest we will focus on Nursery Rhymes including: Humpty Dumpty, Incey Wincey Spider, The Wheels on the Bus, 5 little Ducks and Twinkle Twinkle. These nursery rhymes will link to different areas of provision throughout the room and be incorporated during group times.

Next half term our topic will be Amazing Animals. We hope for children to grasp a wider understanding of an array of animals from all over the world and hopefully have the chance to see some in person! Our key books for this term will be: Dear Zoo, Tip Tap went the Crab, Driving my Tractor, We’re going on a Bear Hunt and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

We hope all children have had a lovely half term. This term the children will be focusing on different types of transport. Our topic is called “Out and About.”  During group times we will focus on three different core texts which are: Travelling By, Naughty Bus, Ambulance, Ambulance!

In the final two weeks before Christmas children will explore the story Dear Santa.
